Linked to Cleopatra, who had a gold facial treatment each night before bed, gold has been a skin care ingredient for centuries. Once only available in the Far East, a complete line of gold-infused skin care products is now available for sale worldwide after Venetian Beauty announced a partnership with Skin Pro International, a skin care manufacturer and marketing company based in Miami, FL. The entire line will be available online and in select spa’s across the globe for the remainder of 2010, with distribution slated to pick up in the first quarter of 2011. The nine products encompass the entire realm of skin care treatments, and while most feature 24k gold flakes in an eye appealing display of elegance and retail appeal, other treatments rely on proven, natural ingredients that have been staples in Chinese medicine for centuries. Rich in antioxidants, these skin treatments are available at a fair price to consumers, the company says. “Compared to other skin care brands featuring gold as an active ingredient, Venetian Beauty comes in at a fraction of the price with the same amount of gold,” according to Venetian Beauty. “We were sick of the competition blaming the high prices of products on the price of gold,” says a company spokesperson. “The gold flakes in the products certainly have value, but as a consumer-oriented brand we hate seeing companies out there over-selling products and citing a commodity that makes up a tiny fraction of the overall compound and stealing from consumer.” Venetian Beauty products are available online via the official Venetian Beauty website as well as the official Amazon.com store of Skin Pro International, Inc.
